Brendan Mounter

Brendan Mounter is a Features Reporter for ABC Far North and files stories across all the national broadcaster’s platforms including online, television and radio from this diverse and unique region. As a photojournalist and filmmaker, he believes pictures are an integral key to powerful storytelling.

Brendan was formerly an ABC Open producer, in both far north and western Queensland and helped developed the skills of local writers through regular workshops and projects to create user-generated-content (UGC) from regional Australia.

Prior to the ABC, Brendan spent more than two years living in the remote community of Yuendumu. He worked there as a video producer for PAW Media and Communications, Australia’s first Aboriginal television station and the creators of the hit ABC series Bush Mechanics.

Brendan is a Cairns local and when not making media, you’re likely to find him in a nearby waterhole.
