Helene Young is published by Penguin. After 28 years as an airline captain in Australia, Helene Young swapped the sky for the sea in search of adventure with her husband aboard their sailing catamaran. The rural and remote places she visits, along with the fascinating people she meets, provide boundless inspiration for her novels.
Her strong interest in both social justice and the complexity of human nature shapes the themes she explores. Her six previous novels have won many awards including Romantic Book of the Year in Australia. Helene’s seventh book, Return to Roseglen (Penguin), is a family drama which tells the story of three generations of women coming to grips with the final days of their beloved matriarch Ivy Dunmore and peels back the complex layers of familial love, family relationships and elder abuse.
Helene is in Toronto giving workshops in July, but will be here for the Cairns Tropical Writers Festival in August. More
