Midaviau – hailing from a family of poets and verse writers, became a member of the Tasmanian Writers Union at sixteen. Published sporadically in magazines in the 1980s and 1990s. Street Poet and Performance Poet in BrizVegas from 1989 to 1991, won the under 25 Mattara poetry prize in 1989, performed for the Warana Festival at the State Library and was a regular performer at the Maleny, then the Woodford Folk Festival. Poet Laureate one year at the Poets Breakfast at the Kuranda Spring Fair and ongoing performances in Kuranda and as part of Exhibitions in Cairns Galleries over several years. Performed in Spoken Word spaces and boutique performances in San Francisco in 1997 and more recently at Burning Man in 2017.
